Hello readers!
On this blog, we bring to you the QS World University Rankings 2023 and how you can assess the universities of your choice. It’s a wise step to check the QS rankings beforehand, for an informed study abroad decision.
First things first!
What is QS Ranking?
Simply said, the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) ranking is an annual publication of university rankings. It was previously known as Times Higher Education–QS World University Rankings. The publisher had collaborated with Times Higher Education (THE) magazine to publish its international league tables from 2004 to 2009 before both started to announce their own versions.
What is the QS Ranking Criteria?
For its compilation of the top universities in the world, the QS World University Rankings takes into account the university’s reputation among other universities (40 percent), employers (10 percent), student-teacher ratio (20 percent), citations-academic staff ratio (20 percent), and international outlook including students and staff (10 percent).
< These institutions are ranked by the QS system according to their position on the world stage, subject-wise (which comprises 48 different subjects and five faculty areas), as well as in five regional tables.
The QS World University Rankings for this year feature around 1,500 universities from all across the world. This year’s highest rankings include universities from many regions around Europe, Asia, and North America; it’s not just well-known institutions that claim the top ranks.
